Families with children due to start school are invited to discover life at St Mary's Catholic Primary School, Newton Aycliffe, at a special Reception Open Event on Monday 28th September from 4pm to 5pm.
The event will give prospective pupils and their families the opportunity to explore the school's Reception classroom and outdoor learning area while stepping into the colourful world of The Colour Monster, the much-loved children's story that helps young learners understand and express their emotions.
Visitors will be able to see the learning environment first-hand and learn more about the experiences available to children in Reception. Parents and carers will also have the chance to meet the school's dedicated team, ask questions, and find out more about the transition into primary education.
A highlight of the event will be the opportunity to chat with the school's Year 6 head pupils, who will share their experiences of life at St Mary's and help families gain an insight into the school's welcoming community.
The Reception Open Event is designed to help families learn more about the school's approach to early years education, while giving children the chance to explore, play and become familiar with their new surroundings.
